I'm a new PhD student joining the lab of Joe von Fischer. I am originally from Tucson, Arizona but got my undergraduate degree in geology at Carleton College in Minnesota. My previous research experiences have been in microbial enzymatic activity and nutrient cycling in grasslands in both Minnesota and Southern California. I am also broadly interested in conservation and have worked on invasive plant management in Yellowstone National Park and on human-wildlife conflict in Namibia. I plan on continuing to pursue research in nutrient cycling and its applications to conservation.
